The recent Halftime Show during the Superbowl has left a lot of people talking. For Millenials and those in Generation X, it was a walk down memory lane as we listened to Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and others go through the hits of our youth. Some thought it was the best halftime show in recent memory, but more than a few said it was second to a dearly departed musician from Minneapolis who played music in the rain.
As I make my way through the fabulous fifties, I’ve noticed how much I tend to look backward in time. My mother once told me when I was in my tweens, that I would look back fondly at the 1980s, the decade when I grew up. Forty years later, I’ve come to realize she was right. I love listening to music from the 80s and look back fondly to a time when it seemed like life was not as complex.
